Creating Assignments

Teachers can identify which teacher-graded assignments have submissions ready to be scored by using the Needs Grading Widget, the Assignments tab, and the Gradebook.

How do I locate assignment submissions that need to be teacher-graded?

Teachers can identify which teacher-graded assignments have submissions ready to be scored by using the Needs Grading Widget, the Assignments tab, and the Gradebook.

Needs Grading Widget

From the Teacher Dashboard, the Needs Grading Widget will display by due date, teacher-graded assignments that have student submissions ready to score.  The 1 on the assignment card represents that there is a student submission ready to be scored for the Writing Prompt. 

Teachers can select the assignment title, in blue text, to navigate directly to the Grading screen for teacher-scored questions. 

 
 

Assignments Tab

Teachers can also use the Assignments tab to identify assignments that have student submissions ready to be scored.

Starting at the Teacher Dashboard, select the Assignments tab from the left navigation menu.  

Use the Needs Grading filter from the Status dropdown to locate assignments that Needs Grading. 

Then select the By Student or By Grade button to navigate to the Grading screen. 

Grade by Student :

Clicking on the By Student button from the Assignments screen will navigate the teacher to Grade by Student tab. 

Grade by Question:

Similarly, clicking on the By Question button from the Assignments screen will navigate the teacher to Grade by Question tab. 

 
 

Gradebook

Starting from the Teacher Dashboard, select the Gradebook from the left navigation bar.  

 

Select the correct class at the top middle of the screen. 

Then locate the assignment.  Assignments that have submissions that need to be teacher-scored can be identified with cells that are gray with a black border.

Select the assignment title in blue text, then select either Grade By Student or Grade By Question.  

This will take the teacher to the Grading screen for the selected assignment. 

Grade by Student:

Clicking on the Grade By Student option from the Assignment Manager will navigate the teacher to Grade by Student tab. 

Grade by Question :

Similarly, clicking on the Grade By Question option from the Assignment Manager will navigate the teacher to Grade by Question tab.
