Announcements can be sent within the Gallopade Online Platform to alert users of new features, important dates, and more!

Gallopade Teachers are able to receive and send announcements within the Gallopade Online Platform to alert users of new features, important dates, and more!
General Information
Announcements can be sent by the Gallopade team, administrators, and teachers, and can be received by all user roles based on the announcement settings.
Important
Students can receive announcements, but cannot send announcements.

If auto-display is selected in the announcement settings, the announcement will auto-display on the screen when users first login or while using the Gallopade Online Platform.
All announcements can be viewed by selecting the speech bubble icon
on the top right of the platform.

This will provide a Notifications pop-up with a preview of the most recent announcements with management options.
Selecting View All on the bottom left of the Notifications pop-up will take users to the Notifications feature where you can access received and sent announcements as well as create new announcements.

Announcement Management

While viewing an announcement, users can select the following icons to manage the notification:

Delete To delete the announcement, select the trashcan icon then select the X on the top right of an auto-displayed announcement to close the announcement. Selecting delete will remove the announcement from your Notifications Inbox. |

Mark as Read Selecting the circle with a checkmark will mark the announcement as read and the announcement will not auto-display again. Then select the X on the top right of an auto-displayed announcement to close the announcement. Selecting this option will move the announcement to Read in your Notifications. |

Archive Selecting the icon with a downward arrow will archive the announcement and remove it from your Notifications Inbox to the Archived tab. Then select the X on the top right of an auto-displayed announcement to close the announcement. This is a great option for saving an announcement for future reference. |

Close Auto-Displayed Announcement Selecting the X on the top right to close the auto-displayed announcement will remove the announcement from view for this online session, but not mark it as read. An auto-displaying announcement will reappear during your next online session if the end date & time on the announcement has not occurred and the announcement will remain in your Notifications Inbox. |
How to Create a New Announcement
First, select the speech bubble icon
on the top right of the platform.

Then select the + on the top right of the Notifications pop-up.

Creating a new announcement is a 3 step process.

Step 1: Information

- Announcement Title
- ← View All: Clicking on the View All link allows the teacher to navigate to the main Notifications page.
- Select Type of Announcement: Class
- Status: Leave as Editing
- End Date & Time: Defaults to 1 day, but can be customized by selecting the calendar icon.
- Urgency: Low, Normal, Urgent
- Auto-Display: Select checkbox if you would like the announcement to auto-display to recipients.
- Announcement Statement: The body text of your announcement.
- Select Next to go to Step 2
Step 2: Distribution Details:

- Select the class this announcement should be sent to from the drop-down menu.
- Select Roles who should receive this message
- Selecting Teacher/Admin will send the announcement to other teachers associated with this class.
- Select Next to go to Step 3
Step 3: Summary

- Review the announcement information and settings before sending.
- To Edit: select Previous button on the left or a select a previous step at the top.
- To Send: Select blue Send button on the right, then select Confirm in the pop-up message.

After confirming, you will receive a green success alert message on the top right of your screen.
